Terms of service
Last updated: August 18, 2026
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Yalape you accept these Terms of service and our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, uninstall the app.
2. Description of the service
Yalape is an Android app that reads your payment apps' notifications to help you know whether a payment arrived. Specifically:
- It records payments: it recognises incoming-payment notifications from the payment apps you enable and stores them in a local history with amount, time, who paid and which rail.
- It groups whoever pays: it lets you create contacts and link to them the different ways each app spells the same name.
- It summarises: statistics about your payments, local backup and, if you configure it, forwarding of captured notifications to a server of your own.
Yalape is not a financial institution or a wallet. It makes no payments, performs no transfers, does not access your bank accounts and has no relationship with Yape, Plin or any of the institutions whose notifications it reads. It only interprets the alert those apps already displayed on your device.
3. Detection is not infallible
Payment recognition is approximate. Payment apps change their notification format without notice, an alert silenced by the system never reaches the app, and a payment may go unrecognised or be read incorrectly.
Yalape is not a substitute for your bank's receipt. You must not use the app as proof that a payment was made, nor hand over goods or services based solely on what it shows. Verifying the payment in your institution's app is your responsibility, and the app tells you so on install. We are not liable for losses arising from a payment that went undetected, was detected in excess, or was recorded with the wrong amount.
4. Forwarding to your own server
If you enable forwarding to your own server, you choose the destination and you are responsible for how that server processes the information, as well as for holding any authorisations that may apply. The feature ships off, with no destination configured, accepts encrypted connections only, and can be stopped at any time.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Yalape to:
- Send spam, illegal content, threats, harassment or misinformation.
- Impersonate another person or organization.
- Interfere with the operation of third-party apps beyond what the app itself allows.
- Collect or forward data about other people without their consent where the law requires it.
- Present what Yalape shows as proof of payment to third parties.
6. Account and subscription
The app can be used without an account. If you create one, you must provide truthful information and keep it up to date. Premium subscriptions are managed through Google Play Billing under that platform's renewal and cancellation terms. Prices may vary by country (regional pricing); the applicable amount, currency and billing cadence are shown in Google Play before you confirm the purchase.
7. Free Premium trial
When you create an account you get 7 days of Premium at no cost. Once the trial ends, the account automatically switches to Free unless you purchase a subscription.
8. Intellectual property
The Yalape software, brand and content belong to their authors. No license over them is granted beyond what is necessary to use the app.
9. User-generated data
Your payments, your contacts and your captured notifications are yours. You can export them as CSV and delete them at any time from within the app.
10. Availability and changes
We make reasonable efforts to keep the app working correctly, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. We may update, modify or discontinue features, notifying you in advance when changes are material.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Yalape is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including loss of data, financial loss caused by a payment that went undetected or was detected incorrectly, and consequences of forwarding information to the server the user configures themselves.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the document. If changes are material we will notify you inside the app.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the applicable law in the developer's place of residence, except where mandatory local rules provide otherwise.
